What we treat
A general gynecology clinic covers most of what can go wrong, and a great deal of
what is simply worth checking. If you’re unsure whether your concern belongs here,
call and ask — that question is free.
Periods and cycles
Heavy bleeding, painful periods, irregular or absent periods, bleeding between
periods or after sex, and periods that have changed character. We look for the cause
— fibroids, polyps, thyroid problems, hormonal causes, anaemia — rather than
only treating the symptom.
PCOS and hormonal imbalance
Diagnosis confirmed properly with bloods and ultrasound rather than assumed, then a
plan that covers cycles, weight, skin, hair and insulin resistance together. See the
Balance programme if you want structured care over months
rather than a single visit.
Infections
Abnormal discharge, itching, odour, burning, urinary tract infections and pelvic
infections. Tested and treated properly — repeated courses of the wrong antibiotic
are one of the most common reasons an infection keeps coming back.
Pelvic pain and endometriosis
Pain during periods, pain during sex, or pain that has become part of daily life.
Period pain severe enough to stop you working or studying is not normal and is worth
investigating rather than managing with painkillers indefinitely.
Fibroids and ovarian cysts
Found on examination or scan, assessed for size, position and symptoms, and managed
according to what they’re actually doing. Many need nothing more than monitoring;
some need treatment. You’ll be told honestly which yours is.
Perimenopause and menopause
Changing cycles, hot flushes, sleep disruption, mood changes, vaginal dryness and
bone health. And the one symptom that always needs urgent assessment: any bleeding
after your periods have stopped.
Contraception and family planning
An honest comparison of the options — how each works, what it does to your
cycle, side effects, how quickly fertility returns — so the choice is yours rather
than the default.
Fertility and trying to conceive
Preconception checks, cycle tracking and ovulation timing, initial fertility
investigations for both partners, and a clear view of when to keep trying and when to
escalate.
Bladder and pelvic floor
Urine leaking when you cough, laugh or lift, urgency, and pelvic organ prolapse.
Very common after childbirth and around menopause, rarely mentioned, and frequently
improvable.
Adolescent gynecology
First periods, cycles that haven’t settled, severe period pain, and early signs
of PCOS in teenagers. Consultations are handled with the privacy and the plain language
a young patient deserves.
Cervical and breast screening
Cervical screening, examination, and referral onward where anything needs further
assessment. Screening finds changes years before they would ever cause a symptom, which
is the entire point of it.
Sexual health
Pain during sex, low desire, and testing and treatment for sexually transmitted
infections. Confidential, without judgement, and without questions that aren’t
medically relevant.
